It’s been a year since the passing of HTRK’s Sean Stewart.

I still remember seeing them for the first time in June 2005, having no idea who they were but being completely overcome. It was an engulfing wall of noise, but Sean’s basslines punched through, giving the hook, the rhythm, something to latch onto while being bombarded with processed guitar noise. I can’t pretend to have ever known him on any basis other than afar, as a fan, but he is sorely missed.

Today the group released a recording of a 2008 show, as a free stream/paid download. It’s loud and beautiful, you should listen to it.

Rest peacefully Sean.
